The Parkside Neighborhood Center works to strengthen individuals & families by offering educational and cultural opportunities to connect diverse neighbors and promote social and physical well-being.

Vision:

The Parkside Neighborhood Center strives to be a safe space where all community members can:
· Feel connected with their neighbors, their family and the larger Portland community
· Recognize and access available resources
· Access education and employment opportunities
· Experience healthy ways of living

· Provide educational, health, social and employment programs
· Help with emergency needs such as food and clothing
· Support youth and families in accessing needed resources

Our Neighborhood

With over 5,000 residents, Parkside is the most densely populated and ethnically diverse square mile in Maine.
The neighborhood includes streets within Congress Street, Forest Avenue, Park Avenue and St. John Street.
Many New American families, from countries like Rwanda, Somalia, Iraq, and Sudan, live in Parkside.
